Appointments
We operate a GP triage system which means all requests for GP appointments are reviewed by one of our team to provide the best and most appropriate care for you need.
If you need an appointment with a GP or you have a general query (e.g. fit note request, results, doctors letter, referral etc) then please click the link below and complete the relevant form.
https://florey.accurx.com/p/Y02847
Please ensure you select the most appropriate option; if you submit an administrative query when your issue is medical, you may be asked to resubmit your request.
Please answer ALL questions as fully as possible including the times that you are unavailable to see us or be contacted. We do try and offer appointments which are convenient for you but sometimes this is not always possible. If you are offered an appointment and you are not available, please submit your request on a day when you are. All GP appointment requests will be triaged by a doctor.
Our preferred way to contact you to advise you as to what will happen next is by text message so please keep your phone to hand and look out for a message from us. For example, we may offer you a telephone call within a 2-hour window or ask for you to come down to the surgery if the clinician feels they need to see you for a 'face to face' appointment.
If the clinician is going to telephone you, please be aware that they will try to contact you twice and if they are unsuccessful in speaking with you they will ask you to resubmit your request the following day.
We hope that this will be a more convenient way for many of our patients to contact us and it will hopefully reduce the waiting times to reach a reception colleague via the telephone for those that prefer to use the phone.
Once our GP appointments have been taken for the day and we have reached a safe capacity, the online medical request will be switched off until the following morning where it will be available again from 8am.
If your condition worsens, please telephone the surgery or call 111 or 999 in the case of a medical emergency.
Thank you.
By phone
If you prefer to contact us by phone, please call 0115 883 1900 after 8am to book an appointment. The receptionist will complete the relevant questionnaires on the phone with you.
Cancelling an appointment
If you can’t make it to your appointment, please let us know as soon as you can so someone else can use it. You can cancel by phone or in person.
Call 0115 883 1900. Please call after 9am if possible. If your appointment is before 9am, please call as soon as you can after 8am.
Patients who miss appointments without cancelling may not be able to book future ones.
Urgent appointments
70% of our appointments are for urgent, same-day care. To book one, call 0115 883 1900 from 8am.
For non-urgent appointments or test results, please call after 11am to help us manage calls better.
Enhanced Access appointments
We offer evening and weekend appointments, either at this practice or another NHS practice nearby, through the Enhanced Access service.
Additional appointments are available:
Monday – Friday from 6.30 pm – 8pm
Saturday from 9am – 5pm
This is not a walk-in service. Speak with reception to book an appointment.
The service is supported by GP+ Nottingham City.
Interpreters
If you use sign language, we can arrange for a British Sign Language interpreter. We also provide interpreters for patients whose first language is not English. Ask when booking your appointment.
Chaperones
If you’d like a chaperone during your appointment, let your doctor or nurse know. They will be happy to help.
Home Visits
If you can’t come to the practice because you are housebound or too sick, you can request a home visit. Call reception before 10:00.
A clinician will contact you to discuss your request to ensure that a visit is appropriate or whether the problem can be managed in a different way.
You may also get a home visit from a nurse or health visitor, depending on your needs.
Countersigning
Doctors at this practice cannot sign passport forms or firearms licenses.
Message from the practice
We know it can be hard to get an appointment right now, and we understand your frustration.
Like many other practices, we are facing a lot of pressure. More people in Nottingham need care, but funding hasn’t increased to match the demand. This means we cannot hire as many staff as we’d like to give appointments faster.
To help with this, we may refer you to other services that can meet your needs quickly. We are always looking for ways to improve and provide the best care we can, despite these challenges.
